Description
Miss Johnson (B.?-D.1892) attended Oberlin College and later graduated from the Massachusetts General Hospital Training School for Nurses. She then worked as a superintendent of the new Springfield at Rhode Island Hospital. Miss Johnson was appointed the first Superintendent of the new Springfield Hospital School of Nursing in early 1892. She selflessly labored to obtain the personnel and equipment necessary for the school's success. Then suddenly, she fell ill and died shortly before the school opened.
