Description
The Merrick Operating Room had extra-large windows to maximize available sunlight in a time when electrical lighting was primitive. The large windows would have faced north to take advantage of natural light while minimizing the solar heating encountered with south-facing windows. The operating room also featured an observation area for nursing students.
