Description
The history of visiting nurses dates back to the 1880s, when district or visiting nurses wold care for the sick poor in their own homes. This 1922 photograph shows Miss Carroll, a Ware visiting nurse, standing in from of her Ford. The Ware Visiting Nurse Association established Baystate Mary Lane Hospital in 1909.
